- Headed bar research – University of Kansas research expected to influence the 318 code over the new few code cycles.
- Anticipated changes to the ACI 318 code (specifically related to hooked and headed development length
Prior to joining HRC in January 2018, Robbie spent 17 years working in the reinforced concrete industry for reinforcing bar fabricators. He stared out as a rebar detailer and advanced through roles in training, supervision and management. His most recent position was with Gerdau as Regional Engineering Manager where he was responsible for development and oversight of all detailing operations in the Southeast.
Robbie is an active member of both CRSI and ACI. He is a member of all CRSI technical committees and is currently the Chairman of the CRSI Detailing Committee and Vice Chairman of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice Committee. He is an active member of several ACI committees including 117 (Tolerances), 131 (BIM), 315 (Detailing), 408 (Bond and Development of Steel Reinforcement) and 408A (Mechanical Reinforcing Bar Anchorages and Splices)
