PRESENTATION:
Avoiding Cracks in Concrete
PRESENTED BY:
Rob Kinchler, PE
Greater Southwestern Region Manager - CRSI
DESCRIPTION:
Owners feel concrete should not crack, and if it does, it shouldn’t be visible or impair performance. In fact, cracking is one of the most common complaints for a project. It’s also a frequent source of disputes and litigation due to unrealistic expectations. Fortunately, cracking that is detrimental is almost always avoidable. Join us as we discuss the different types of cracks in concrete and how to design, construct, and specify your concrete structure to avoid cracks.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Learn about cracking mechanisms in reinforced concrete
- Identify crack types in reinforced concrete
- Understand procedures to minimize and or control cracking
- What to specify and inspect to insure concrete as crack free as possible
Zoom meeting information will be sent the day before the meeting.
